Well I survived! August is finished and after doing 421 visits across the month it’s safe to say I’m pretty knackered! However I’m feeling much better than post-summer 2022!
No Cat of the Month this time, I want to reflect on August a bit as well as announce here something really amazing that happened to Moggy Daycare over August
August, how did it go?
August was exceptionally busy this year, as mentioned above we clocked in with 421 visits in just Worcester alone! Sadly I did have to turn some of you away, I hope you managed to seek alternative solutions (some of which Sophie from Sparrow & Wagtails took on, thank you Sophie ?), hopefully this will get a lot of you to book far in advance to avoid this next year!
We swapped to a new system as well during August, we are no longer utilising Pet Sitter Dashboard (PSD)for our appointment bookings, instead to give us better control over how client information is stored and dealt with, as well as managing invoices/banking in much better detail we are now using Zoho Books! Zoho Books is fully fledged accounting software so it’s taken some getting used to but I’m not only able to manage client data better as well as bookings…but I can finally take bookings well beyond 12 months in advance, something I was never able to do with PSD. That being said I would like to thank PSD for their software, it was great while we used it but we have definitely outgrown it!
Pop-in Visits: The verdict
Across July/August I introduced a new rate called “Pop-in visits” which was a shorter visit at a cheaper rate, this was introduced in the hopes that I wouldn’t get so over-burdened but also allowing me to take on more client bookings. And now I’ve got through the madness I am happy to say it was a great success, I don’t feel stressed/drained at all!
That being said, for the time being I am going to keep this cheaper rate limited to mainly major holidays (Summer, Christmas,etc) as I don’t wish the rate to harm my income too much (the £9 rate is just above what I am calculated to charge on average). However I will be utilising it if I feel the need to, for example if I have a particularly busy day and you’re on my route/struggling to find someone else. This rate will be limited to currently registered clients and will not be offered to new clients.

We won an award!
Yes that’s right, Moggy Daycare won an award for Best Pet Sitter in the Midlands! We were nominated back in June for the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards and in August it was publicaly announced that we won the Pet Sitter of the Year 2023 award!
Also we made the local newspaper with this incredible news! The Worcester News got in touch and published an article on 31st August 2023! See below for a screenshot a very kind client shared with us!

Worcester & Droitwich Availability (Updated 01/09/2023)
Worcester: I will not be taking on new clients at all between June and the start of September due to how busy I already am, if you need an alternative cat sitter in the Worcester area go search for Sparrow & Wagtails on Instagram, I highly recommend Sophie and the fab work she does (she looks after my girls when I’m away!)
Droitwich: Open and looking for new clients! So if you live in the Droitwich area and are looking for a sitter, head over to the contact form and pop us a message and we will see if Tim is able to look after your cat(s)!
September weekly availability breakdown (Worcester)
All weeks are listed commencing on Mondays. Dates show are available to currently registered clients only.
The first 2 weeks of September are a no-go for bookings, I’m still getting through the Summer bookings, but the final two weeks look like this:
18/09/2023-24/07/2023: Limited slots available
25/09/2023-30/09/2023: Limited slots available*
*I go on holiday from the 30th September so I will not be taking any bookings beyond 29th September until I get back so please take this into consideration when requesting your dates!
So if you’re fully booked, what do I do now? I need a sitter for my cat(s)!?
If you are booking for cat sits in Worcester and it’s fully booked, before referring you to another cat sitter we will try and fulfil your booking with Tim our Droitwich sitter. If on that occasion we still cannot fulfil your request we will make some recommendations for you to go to.
Christmas 2023 (updated 01/09/2023)
I am now fully booked for Christmas! Yes already and it’s only September! Take this as a warning that you really do need to book 12 months in advance for these big holidays now I’m extremely busy!

As a final thing…THANK YOU so much for being such amazing clients, it’s obvious to say but I honestly wouldn’t be able to do this as my full-time job if it wasn’t for you all coming back to me time and time again! It really does mean a lot to me and I hope to continue seeing your fur babies long into 2023 and beyond!
